British investors are interested in Slovak market

Total investment of British investors in Slovakia at the end of 2008 was 401 million EUR.  This has positioned them on the 12th place among all foreign investors operating in the Slovak Republic.

British investors are interested in Slovak market, stated Andrew Cahn, the CEO of UK Trade and Investment United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, during a meeting with Slovak Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnátek. The Ministry of Economy has also informed that according to Cahn the British investment in Slovakia might be higher than statistics show, as many UK firms invest indirectly through other countries such as through the Netherlands, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are one of the major investors in Slovakia. The total investment of British investors in Slovakia at the end of 2008 was 401 million EUR.
This has positioned them on the 12th place among all foreign investors operating in the Slovak Republic. "On the other hand, it should be noted that the United Kingdom became the fourth most attractive investment destination for Slovak investors. Value of the Slovak investment in UK is currently 80 million Euros," noted the Ministry of Economy.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development currently records eleven pending investment projects totaling 137 million EUR, which should create more than 3200 new jobs.
